Equestrienne Barbie 1977 (A)

Equestrienne Barbie was not sold in the US. It was produced exclusively for the European and Canadian Markets and uses the Living Barbie Body and Busy Barbie (open/close) hands. Side-glancing eyes. It was sold in 1977, 1978 and 1979 – the dolls were basically the same, just some variations in the pants and the boxes they came in.
The doll for sale here is near mint. Fashion is very excellent (elastic brittle in pants). Fashion as shown (shirt and pants). Missing riding hat, boots and crop.
Considered hard to find.
It has been said that Mattel had a practice of using up bodies, heads etc to create dolls, but they were generally sold only in Europe & Canada, which is why they are rarer and more limited.
